What causes chronic fatigue? Why do some people tire form very little exertion while others have wonderful
endurance? There are many theories from viruses to mercury in fillings. Could the food that we eat have
anything to do with it? Over-eating, improper food combining and food preparation could all have detrimental
affects on health.
Fatigue affects the nerves as well as the muscles and interferes with the activity of organs of the body. In
perfect health the tissues and cells are bathed in an alkaline solution which is natural to them. Therefore, the
majority of foods that are eaten should be on the alkaline side or 80% alkaline to 20% acid.
Since all fatigue products are acid and the natural condition of the blood and tissue is alkaline, it follows that all
acid products must be promptly neutralized in the body by alkalines or the body will fill with these acid products
and death will follow. Now, this is precisely what happens during rest periods after fatigue. The acids
generated by exertion are neutralized by alkalines during rest periods. As long as the acids remain in the body,
there will be fatigue.
Life cannot exist without forming acid within the body and these acids must be neutralized by alkalines all
during our life. Acids can be eliminated through the lungs, urine and feces. However, too much acid in the body
can cause acidosis which leads to toxicity.
A muscle in a condition of fatigue is really in a state of acid reaction. If it were possible to neutralize the acids
as fast as they are manufactured in the body through exertion, then fatigue would be unknown. Every time we
move a muscle, wink an eye or think a thought, a certain amount of tissue is destroyed. This destroyed tissue
becomes poison which must be eliminated from the body. This is done by alkalines through a chemical change
of the mineral salts aided by the internal secretions, all of which is superinduced by vitamins.
When we remove most of the mineral salts and vitamins from our food by cooking, should we expect anything
less but sickness? This explains why half of us are sick all the time and the rest of us are half sick all the time.
Healthy bodies depend upon being supplied with proper ingredients. Vegetables and fruits help to build up the
organic minerals or alkalines in the body.
Another cause of acid in the body is negative thinking which affects are just as real as physical threats. Dr. M.
Ted Morter, Jr. states that we live or die at the cellular level. This is why it is so important to limit dietary acids
and encourage positive thinking.
