Exercise in the open air is an essential requisite for the production and maintenance of health.  Unless
sufficient oxygen is supplied to the lungs daily by exercise in the open air, toxins will fail to be removed in sufficient
quantity for the maintenance of a healthy state.  Without exercise, the contractile powers of the heart and large
arteries are feebly exerted.

Walking is a good exercise as it calls many muscles into action, especially those of the lower body.  Quick walking
calls more muscles into action than slow walking and therefore is better.

Exercise in the open air cheers one up; therefore, we should exercise in the open air every day.  However, long
walks should never be undertaken immediately after meals.  The first essential to a healthful walk is a pleasurable
object, beautiful scenery affords an agreeable stimulus, which sends blood through the vital channels and imports
a glow of health upon the cheeks.

The heart, stomach, liver, bowels, lungs, kidneys nor the skin will work in health without exercise.  Exercise is very
important in the curing of disease; if more of it were taken and less medicines, it would be better for mankind.

The human body is a machine in which the various parts are adapted to each other; if one suffers all must
suffer.  It is a provision of nature, the more muscles that are exercised, the stronger they will become.  The only
successful process is nature’s method, which is muscular activity.

If debris is not eliminated, old age cannot be satisfactory deferred, nor can life be materially prolonged.  If you
know why you grown old, you have the knowledge necessary to keep you young.

Not only is exercise the chief means of the elimination of toxins, but is aids in the forcing along, through the lymph
and the blood, the suitable material which is needed for growth and the production of energy.  Since fatigue is
largely caused by the proper elimination of worn-out, dead tissues, it is clear that activity or exercise means life.
Proper exercise stands out as a prominent factor in good health.
